There is an archipelago located in the western province of West Papua, Indonesia known as Raja Ampat islands. Raja Ampat is a new district in Indonesia.  Raja Ampat islands are group of islands consist of over 610 islands and spread out over a huge area. Waiego, Salawati, Batanta, and Misool are the four largest islands of Raja Ampat islands.

Raja Ampat islands is recognized as one of the 10 best dive tourism in the world for its Marine tourism. A million of beauty under the sea is saved within Raja Ampat area. It makes Raja Ampat islands become a diver's destination. They're interested in the beautiful underwater scenery.

Raja Ampat islands are also known as tropical natural resources center of the world's richest. Reefs are covered in various selections of hard and soft corals. Most of Raja Ampat's reefs' areas are pristine and very colorful ranging from brilliant red, to shocking yellow pretty pink and exotic purple.

The best dive sites of Raja Ampat islands which include Sardines Reef, The Passage, Nudibranch Rock, Cape Kri, Mellisa's Garden, and Wai Island Night Dive would be able to be experienced by tourists. wobbegong,  the pigmy seahorse species, and manta ray are some unique species that can occur during diving in Raja Ampat islands. There are also Raja Ampat endemic fish, namely Eviota king, a kind of gobbie fish.

Red birds of paradise Maleo Waigeo, Wilson birds of paradise and rainbow fishes are some rarely fauna that can be found  in Raja Ampat islands. Raja Ampat islands has many kinds of Waigeo palm, orchids,  ironwoods or black woods, 'ulin' woods, 'keruing', etc. Maritime Ministry Freddy Numberi will declare Raja Ampat islands as ancient regency because Raja Ampat islands have various nature profits or in other words that it's not only rich of fishes but also of pearl and sea herbs.

Raja Ampat islands is only eight years old located in remote regions of West Papua. The fact is that the infrastructure is inadequate. Travelers must fly to Sorong to reach the Raja Ampat islands and then journey along the sea as far as 71 km to arrive in Raja Ampat.
