Orangutans Borneo is truly endangered. Sabangau National Park in Kalimantan becomes the home of the largest remaining population of endangered orangutans. The decreasing population of orangutans Borneo is caused not only by the loss of habitat but also by illegal hunting and underground pet trade. The loss of habitat is due to the deforestation, illegal logging, forest fire, oil palm plantation, and illegal mining in Borneo. It particularly happened in the western state of Sarawak where many orangutans home is. Malaysia is known as the world's largest palm oil producers, this fact show that it demands more oil palm plantation that causes more rainforests destruction. The palm oil plantation is not suitable habitat for orangutans Borneo. Illegal mining also turned the tropical rainforest into barren lifeless desert. The loss of habitat is unbearable for the orangutans Borneo. When there is no more proper habitat for them, it's more tragic that they're hunt and shot in their own home. The remaining orangutans Borneo now are trying to survive in some reservations in Borneo. Though it's hard to see them like in the wilderness, it's the only possible effort for them to survive right now.
