The National symbol – Garuda Pancasila is Indonesia national symbol. It is somewhat intertwined with the concept of the phoenix. The color of Garuda Pancasila is gold, symbolizes the greatness of the nation. It is also a representation of the elang Jawa or Java Hawk-eagle. The black color represents nature. There are 17 feathers on each wing, 8 on the tail and 45 on the neck, which represent the date Indonesia proclaimed its independence: 17 August 1945.
